Qi'ra doesn't have Force powers. . But since Maul isn't really a member of the Sith anymore at this point, and rather just a huge crime boss, it wouldn't make total sense that Qi'ra be a Sith, either. But the end of Solo wound up with a surprising twist, linking Han's adventure with not only events in the future, but the events of the past as well. Qi’Ra says ‘I would ask them why they did it, if it was a moment of weakness and then kill the one they love’. All rights reserved. A female villain who can use the Force, albeit for the Dark Side, is something we haven't yet seen in any Star Wars film, and there's no time like the present to make it happen. Darth Maul was a vaguely explained baddie from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, who worked for Attack of the Clones' antagonist Count Dooku. Vos said he will sort Qi’Ra later and orders his goon to kill Han. Warning: Spoilers for Solo: A Star Wars Story follow. She managed to escape Corellia after all, rising in the ranks of the crime syndicate Crimson Dawn to become Dryden Vos’s most-trusted lieutenant. Qi'ra was a human female from the planet Corellia who lived during the reign of the Galactic Empire. So when a familiar face shows himself at the end of Solo, it presents a huge question: since she becomes loyal to Darth Maul, could Qi'ra be a Sith in Star Wars? When Qi'ra makes the choice to stay and call in Vos' death, declaring herself the head of the Crimson Dawn, viewers finally discover who she's working for: Darth Maul (still played by actor Ray Park). Though they were at first rivals, the two Scrumrats eventually became lovers. Alternatively, she could be truly evil, and perhaps she's off to hone her Sith powers at the end of Solo, in which case it's possible we'll see her in other Star Wars movies or the upcoming TV series. His saving of Chewbacca alone reflects that. Further it adds to how was she able to get in such a high position in the first [place] and how did she escape from the gangsters when she was re-captured, rather how did she convince them not to kill her. When it came time for the Star Wars animated TV spin-offs, he was too good of a bad guy to just get rid of. Solo: A Star Wars Story has had a muted start at the box office; failing to meet projections and settling at the $103 million mark in the US. He's been wearing cybernetic legs in the cartoons for years, all while bedeviling those on the side of good. Han turns to smuggling as a way to pull himself out of a terrible childhood. Did you spot them? Formed thousands of years before the Clone Wars, the Sith were the ancient enemies of the Jedi Order. A new fan theory has explained how the Emilia Clarke character might just have a link to the Force. At the end of Solo, Qi'ra's true allegiances are still up in the air. Alden Ehrenreich plays Han in the film, with Thandie Newton, Woody Harrelson and Donald Glover also in the cast. Now, you're probably wondering at this point how the heck Darth Maul survived being cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end of The Phantom Menace. Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke plays a woman named Qi'ra, a former flame of Han Solo's and a major player in the standalone film. But Vos is actually just a medium-sized shark in these Imperial infested waters, one who answers to an even larger fish, which, as is hinted all throughout the film, is some arm of the Empire. She got herself off Corellia by making a deal with the devil. Qi'ra never goes into detail about what's happened to her or what she's done during the three years she's been apart from Han, and though Han loves her, she never really comes across as terribly trustworthy throughout the movie. So does this mean Qi'ra is a Sith? As it seems, she wants to gain as much control as she can, survive the dog-eat-dog style of the galaxy, and finally have power of her own. “What we then see is Qi’Ra come out of the falcon with grenades, move forward and throw them. The coaxium isn't for Vos, it's for his employers. She abandons Han and Chewie on Savareen, but she also essentially saves them by telling Darth Maul that Beckett killed Dryden Vos, when in reality, she killed Dryden and Han killed Beckett. Lucasfilm. A brand on her arm, and the way Dryden treats her, are more suggestive of ownership than partnership. So how is Maul still alive? Why? Star Wars: Han Solo - Is Darth Maul alive in Solo? The Sith are the Dark Side's answer to the Jedi. Qi'ra is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, first appearing in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story and portrayed by English actress Emilia Clarke. When Han and fellow thief Beckett (Woody Harrelson) head to the chic headquarters of big-time crime boss Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany), Han literally bumps into Qi'ra, who now works for Dryden as a sort of lieutenant. So why choose to answer to Maul, if she's not one with the Dark Side? But when, toward the end of the film, Qi'ra kills her current boss Dryden Vos, abandons Han, and seemingly pledges loyalty to a holographic Darth Maul, it seems totally possible that she's been a Sith in disguise all along. In the scene, Maul addresses Qi'ra by name (without her having to introduce herself first), so odds are the two have had some interaction in the past. But that doesn't means she won't try and use Maul's connections, power, and galactic influence to her own advantage. But Qi’ra was a survivor. And if someone like Darth Maul or another Sith lord managed to lure her into a life of crime, or to the Dark Side, she'd have every reason to take them up on the offer, trying anything she could to escape Dryden's grasp and take control.
